0.1 The Challenge

Oceanic Airlines offers a vacation activity planning service during passenger’s flights (fictitious case). The objective is to provide their users, opportunities to enjoy different on board activities via the entertainment center (the display on the back of the seat), or from a URL that can be accessed from mobile devices.

Objectives

  • Define and discuss hierarchies of the information provided;
  • Design in high fidelity the listing and selection of activities for the display of the armchair (1024x768px) and mobile device (360x640px);
  • Consider the visualisation possibilities of each device;
  • What information can be divided, rearranged and replaced by whatever element the users deem appropriate;
  • Validate the efficiency of the interface according to the various aspects of the proposal;

The process

Double Diamond Approach

I followed the Design Council‘s Double Diamond model approach to the creative process. The Double Diamond is a simple visual map of the design process. It’s divided into four distinct phases — Discover, Define, Develop and Deliver. I followed the IDEO’s Design Thinking model as a way for the human-centered design to support my choices during the development of roadmap. It gave me a foundation to base my design path on user’s findings.
